A 60-year reconstructed high-resolution local meteorological dataset in Central Sahel (1950-2009)
A 6-decade long, continuous meteorological dataset, including modelled surface fluxes, was (re)constructed for the location of Niamey (Niger), at 30-min resolution over 1950-2009. It is based on the raw data available for the Niamey Airport station (DMN Niger) within this period, and on several complementary datasets of different origins (including the AMMA-CATCH observatory in Niger) for nearby sites. Variables covered are precipitation, air temperature, relative and specific humidity, air pressure, wind speed, downwelling and upwelling long- and short-wave radiation, latent, sensible and soil heat fluxes and surface temperature. Uncertainty on reconstructed data is reflected by means of a set (ensemble) of several possible multivariate time series. The work for producing this complete and consistent high-resolution dataset as well as the latter’s main properties are presented in :
